Pantone has released it’s 2015 Color of the Year, and it’s a classic beauty. Coming off of 2014′s Radiant Orchid, the color experts have selected the deep and versatile hue Marsala. With such a great shade in store for us, we say: why wait until next year to incorporate this color into your looks?
This wine-inspired color will be everywhere come January, from runways to advertising to shopping malls. And unlike it predecessor, it’s not a stretch to get this shade on men as well.
Pantone explains why they chose Marsala for 2015:
Much like the fortified wine that gives Marsala its name, this tasteful hue embodies the satisfying richness of a fulfilling meal while its grounding red-brown roots emanate a sophisticated, natural earthiness. This hearty, yet stylish tone is universally appealing and translates easily to fashion, beauty, industrial design, home furnishings and interiors.
What they didn’t mention was holidays. But with the season greeting us all, we can’t help but bring it up! The traditional red and green that fills the holiday season is only enhanced by the simple sophistication of Marsala. From wardrobe to makeup to decor, you’ll be ahead of the curve and right on trend with Pantone’s 2015 Color of the Year .
